VISION

Focusing on systems integrations for VFX, film, TV, and stage performance.

TECHNOLOGY

In-depth understanding of SideFX Houdini, Unreal Engine, 3ds max, Maya, Substance Painter & Designer, Nuke, Fusion, Rhino3D, Inventor, Revit, and Softimage (RIP). Extensive render engine work with a multitude of engines including Arnold, Renderman, Octane, VRay, and Red Shift.

I am a Professor and technical 3D/VFX Artist working at the intersection of education, research, and production for over 25 years. That time has afforded me the opportunity to become skilled in the many fields and applications associated with 3D design, animation, and VFX. My specialization is in pipeline & instructional systems integration related to procedural simulation, character animation & rigging, rendering, compositing, virtual production, mechanical design, and digital cinematography. My initial industry focus had been primarily on instructional simulation animation for agencies such as the Department of Defense, the National Security Agency, and the Center for Disease Control. I also teach full time at Lesley University where I hold the rank of Professor of VFX & Animation. My current research interests include machine learning for VFX, USD pipeline integration, motion analysis solutions for live and virtual production, non-destructive VFX, interactive storytelling, and augmented reality.
